Reggie Bush Biography
Born March 2, 1985, in Spring Valley, Calif.
Height/weight: 5-11 1/2 / 203 pounds.

College: Played on two national championship teams at Southern California, in 2003 and '04, and won the Heisman Trophy last season. His 1,740 rushing yards in 2005 rank sixth all-time at USC Trojans, where running backs O.J. Simpson, Marcus Allen, Charles White and Mike Garrett also won the Heisman.

NCAA rules issue: The NCAA and the Pacific-10 Conference are investigating whether Bush's family lived in a San Diego-area home rent-free for about a year or received other compensation from agent Michael Michaels, who hoped to represent Bush. Bush was still playing at USC at the time, and NCAA rules prohibit players' families from receiving benefits from an agent. In an April statement, Bush's attorney, David Cornwell, said, "Reggie was not aware of personal or financial arrangements relating to his parents of their house." Said Bush marketing agent Mike Ornstein, "Reggie Bush didn't know anything about it. Reggie Bush didn't do anything wrong, and we're standing by that story." Bush generally has declined to comment, but in April Reggie Bush told ESPN, "When this is all said and done, everybody will see at the end of the day that we've done nothing - absolutely nothing - wrong."

Scoring from long range: The average length of Bush's 18 touchdowns in 2005 was 31.4 yards, and Reggie Bush averaged one touchdown for every 14.4 times Reggie Bush touched the ball.

New number: Reggie Bush wore No. 5 at Southern California but has changed to No. 25 with the New Orleans Saints because NFL rules dictate running backs must wear numbers from 20 through 49. Reggie Bush appealed the league to wear No. 5 but was denied.

Media: Reggie Bush covered the 2003 Super Bowl as a reporter for NFLHS.com and has an eight-page fashion layout in the September issue of GQ. Reggie Bush also was the cover subject for Sports Illustrated's July fantasy football edition.

High school: At Helix High in La Mesa, Calif., near San Diego, Reggie Bush was a teammate of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith, who was the first pick overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. Bush scored 450 career points in football and placed third in the 100 meters at the state track meet in 2002.
