Marc Jacobs launched his eponymous line in 1986, after studying at Parsons the New School for Design. He soon won the CFDA Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent—the youngest designer to do so. He becomes the designer who can’t be missed during New York Fashion Week. Marc’s clothing has a tongue-in-cheek humor to it, but is also extremely wearable. He has used photographer Juergen Teller for his advertisements from the very beginning. Marc also has a habit of naming his handbags after models. He’s also the head designer for Marc by Marc Jacobs. Marc became the creative director of Louis Vuitton in 1997. He married Lorenzo Martone in July 2009.
